The Last Update

We expect the volume of traffic through the checkout tomorrow in our last sale to be quite heavy. With that in mind, here are a few tips to make sure things go as smoothly as possible:

Firstly and most importantly, please make sure you receive an order confirmation by email after you place your order. If you don't receive one please check your spam folder as they do drop into there from time to time. If there isn't one in the spam folder, please forward us your paypal receipt ASAP and we will check it for you. Sometimes with heavy traffic there is a problem between Paypal and the website so if you do not receive an order confirmation email it means your order has not gone through. 

Secondly we will have 2 new arrivals pages and 1 sale page with the new items on them. These are clearly displayed on the home page under the featured departments.

Thirdly, we will not be accepting returns after 15th of August on full priced items. Sale and potluck items cannot be returned or refunded.

We are planning on working through the weekend to get all the orders out and packed, so we will find out if we have any issues very quickly and we will work to offer you an alternative.

Finally, once all orders have been packed, if we have any odds left over we will be adding things to the sale pages next week, so keep an eye out for even more deals on non repeatable yarn.

Change

Change is never an easy decision, especially when you have grown your business from scratch with hand dyeing luxury yarns at the core. Last month I made an announcement in the Ravelry group and now the dust has settled a little, I want to share my immediate plans for the coming year. 

 

As lots of you know, there are two aspects to my business, I have the hand dyed part, which my mum and I do in my little unit in the Cotswold’s on a fairly small scale. Then I have the commercial side which is large scale commercial dyeing. The commercial side of Fyberspates is growing fast and needs a lot of attention, more so now than ever. As I jet off today to TNNA I will be focusing on the most recent branch of our brand, Fyberspates USA. 

When preparing for a big dye session in preparation for Wonderwool, I received the news from my Landlord that he was ending my lease with short notice due to the fact they are converting my little unit into a cottage. As a result I have taken the decision to create a natural pause in my hand dyeing for a while and concentrate more on designing and developing the commercial yarn ranges of Scrumptious, Gleem, Vivacious and Cumulus as well as working on new lines of wholesaleable yarns and pattern support. With Fyberspates USA also needing a little nurturing in these early stages, it seems a good time to take stock, consolidate and think about the many ways in which Fyberspates has grown as a company. There's so much new product development going on behind the scenes this is not so much an end as a new start in some ways!

I will attempt to have plenty of my own hand dyed yarns for Woolfest but I will no longer be doing my regular updates after this time for a while. I am not saying the hand dyed won’t come back, but for at least a year I need to effectively manage the growth of the other part of my business. What you see in the shop now is the last stock before the post Wonderfest update. Any stock I bring back will be added in one last update and then, with the exception of a few kits, you will only find Scrumptious, Gleem, Viviacious and Cumulus. 

 

If you want to be sure to catch the last of the handdyes in person please come and say hi at Woolfest on the 27th-28th June 2014 or catch the last update when we get back. We'll also be keeping you up to date with any new yarn or pattern development this way too. There is of course always the Ravelry Group, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest!

Fyberspates has made the front cover again!

Issue 70 of The Knitter has a Fiona Morris design on the front cover: a lace cardigan called 'Pewter' knit in Scrumptious High Twist DK in Pewter. The Hourglass Purl Lace pattern worked all over creates a beautiful open work fabric that makes this DK weight cardigan a perfect transitional piece for Spring and Summer. Sizes included in the pattern range from 81cm- 126cm (32-50 inches) and calls for 5-8 skeins of High Twist DK depending on the size you choose.

Shipping will commence on 15th April 2014 so pop over now to secure your skeins. Remember, due to the nature of hand dyeing, a sweater quantity will need to have skeins alternated every few rows to avoid any obvious colour changes.

January SALE 2014

We're preparing to wind down for Christmas here at Fyberspates HQ but we just wanted to let you know that this year's January Sale is going to be spectacular! As always we'll be uploading loads of goodies on the 1st January 2014 for you to treat yourself to after so much hard work over the festive season. 

As well as our usual sale items of things like tangled and lucky dip yarns, we will also be featuring some pretty sweet discounts, exclusive yarns, a bundle of hands dyes that have not been featured for a while and more to help us get the hang of.... our NEW website! Get It While Its Hot!

For those of you who might not yet have discovered it, there has been an update on the Fyberspates shop page and there are still a few goodies left! So in the interests of enabling, here's a little sample of what you can expect to find:

Some delicous hand dyed skeins of 'Faery Wings', a lustrous 67% Silk, 23% Kid Mohair,  and 10% Nylon blend that was recently featured in Tricosa's wonderful pattern, Bakau. 

A truly decadent offering of 'Elegance Lace', a new lace to Fyberspates. It's a heavy lace weight, with exquisite softness and shine and the 800m skeins are a blend of 65% Silk and 35% Baby Camel.


There are also some stunning hand dyed colours available in our 4 ply bases, Sheila's Sock, Rural Charm, Gloucester Tweed and our Scrumptious base.
