Ally Pally, Updating shop and life ramblings

Firstly, if you are visiting Allypally, you can buy my yarns from 3 stands: RKM wools (they have all the scrumptious) Tall yarns & Tales have lace lace lace and sock and I think also Woolfish have some too.

Hey!!! What an absolutely stunning morning, I LOVE my drive to work at the moment, I have never really had to drive work before seeing as I always lived in a city, but I am right on the edge of the cotswolds and the scenery is Stunning at the moment, the trees are beautiful, and I am getting in the mood for dyeing some gorgeous autumn colours. Its making me think too about where to live and stuff, I have always dreamt about building my own house, and being kind of self sufficient, I am not nieve enough to think I could do it completely, but I would love to have a go, and I would like my own peice of land etc, and I think for the first time in years I am thinking I need to slowly work towards that goal, I am kind of past my whole life revolving around work, and I am feeling the need for balance in my life. So I am starting to think about a plan, and you know me, I never do anything by halves, but for now its all about research research research, I accept its a long term goal, but its never to early to start!!!! It also gives me inspiration to keep working hard to pay of debts and get myself into a more flexible position.

So in that vein hahaha, I have started updating the shop, and I have a long way to go, as I have boxes of blimin yarn to go on.

Also I am thinking about new yarns and things for the winter, and I was wondering, what kinds of yarns do you guys want?? Lace is still selling well, but I wonder if you guys like arans and wools, what thicknesses and fibres are you looking for, are you looking for multicoloured yarns, or semisolids all the time, I confess semi solids are easy for me at the moment while its busy, but I just want your thoughts really if you leave a comment I will reply with a 10% discount code for the shop for you to encourage you to leave a comment, it will last until Monday. hehe....

oh and keep an eye on the sale page, there are things still going on there to clear the shelves

While the cat's away...

Hello Everybody!
P1010012
It's Elly, Jen's second in command (well, maybe I'm third in command... or fifth maybe, after the cats?). And yes, that is the best photo I could manage.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that while Jen is away at Birmingham this weekend I have put a mini update in the shop - 2 self-striping sock hanks in Lime Lizard (I only have those because they were still too damp to go with Jen when she left on Wednesday), and the rest is stuff that I've put in the category of 'Clearance' in the shop. This is stuff that hasn't sold for quite a while. It is at least 50% off the usual price, and if the first batch of stuff sells quickly, then I shall put some more up.

But only if it sells quickly, because I'm not great at taking pictures, and it takes quite a while to upload it all. I'm glad I don't do it every week! That is one thing that I will not be taking over permanently!

I want to get all the random odds and sods out of the yarn room, so I can make it super tidy and to make space for the extra yarn and fibre that Jen will be able to dye now that I am doing some of the admin side of the work!

I've just spoken to Jen and she says to tell you that she is having a great time, and that her stand is next to the Spinners and Weavers Guild stand. What's the betting she comes home with a table loom???

I have sent all the parcels that I can, although there are still a few outstanding, which will have to wait until Jen comes back (Monday). Sorry, but you wouldn't want me to send you the wrong thing, would you!?

And to those who are placing orders over the next few days:
P1010011
I solomnly swear to send those grey packets out to you just as fast as I can.

See - I told you that first picture was the best one.

Shop update

OK, Got laptop backed up at PC world, and apparently I get a replacement while mine is being fixed, but I am not going to believe that until I see it. So I have all my incoices and labels and club info and everything, thanks goodness, what a relief I thought I was going crazy!!

So I am going to start updating the shop, because its rather empty, I have to warn you, I am pretty much out of scrumptious lace, I will eek it out over the next couple of updates, but I need to keep a little for woolfest. So there is not going to be alot in the next 4 weeks of that unfortunately, the next lot comes in on the first week of July.

Happy shopping,

Fibre shop update

OK, so I have the mother of all hangovers, its The noblins fault, we were having too much fun!!
No really, we have a lovely evening, Abi, Judy, and I had dinner in my favourite restaurant in the world and took advantage of the free bottle of wine I won as a result of being subscribed to the news letter (I think), and then we went onto shot in the dark for stitch n' bitch, and Um, drank more wine, and kind of knitted but got drunk too, well me and Judy did anyway, I really enjoyed myself, it felt like proper going out.

Today I am struggling to look at the screen, but have updated everything I could find, lol! There is yarn, after the fibres. There is alot of fibres which I completely forgot to put on last week, and some scrumptious lace which is rationed now because I am nearly out of stock and can't get any more till July, :-(.

Anyway, here is my favourite fibres of the week:

Fyberspates_hand_dyed_yarn_new_555 Its nef. I am in love.

So off to Coldharbour mill for some yarny fun and chats, then to a knitting machine guild  event  on Sunday to sell yarn, and then Stash on Monday.  Have a superb weekend folks, hope the sun shines where you are :-)

And thanks Abi for all your help, you are a true star :-)

Oh my goodness, its so Early, its wrong!!!

I woke up at 5.50am, because I was dreaming anxiously about labeling yarn before I go to Peru. I have so many things to finish before I go, that its making me twitchy, so I thought I would get up, make some tea and go through all my flagged emails and get all the little things sorted this morning before I go to Bath for the conclusion of our knitting research meeting. The results have been analysed and now we are meeting to see if there is evidence to apply for lots of money to research it properly, so I suppose really its quite a big day today, especially seeing as I don't know what the results were, gulp.

So just to give you a taster, I have to get in the post on Monday 3 orders that are huge to the UK, Scotland and Canada, gulp, but this is a small proportion of a scrummy order for K1 yarns in Scotland, I am desperate to go and see the new shop.......

K1_yarns_2

Update is still going in the shop, all the pastels are up, its the nice chocolaty colours next, the the scrumptious dk solids which you can see above and to be honest to dye for. Order from the shop have to be purchased by wed morning, or they won't get sent till I get back...... have a lovely weekend, back tomorrow with knitting results and ethics things, and hopefully a full shop, lol.
